Adopt a Trail Program
Trails may be adopted by any individual or group willing to complete the minimum requirements listed below. Trails are available for adoption on a first come, first choice basis.
1. Adopters must collect litter on the trail at least once a month during the season of their adoption.
2.Adopters must monitor and inventory the trail for maintenance needs and complete at least one project or one day of work on the trail. This may include removal of brush, trees, rocks; excavation of rock and/or soil to form a trail bed or trail tread; or construction of minor drainage structures or water crossings.
Equipment such as garbage bags, and reflective vests (for roadside trails) will be available at the Public Works building, from 7 - 3:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. To arrange for pick up, leave the bags along the sides of the trail and call 825-7235.
Adopted sections of the trail will be clearly marked with signs recognizing the group or individual who has adopted the trail.
Syracuse City Maintenance Department
Please be aware City ordinances require residents to maintain their water meter boxes and secondary water valves, keeping them clear of weeds and debris. Maintaining your premises will result in a prompt repair in a water leak situation.

Secondary Water
Notice:
Due to low snow pack totals Weber Basin water has put water restrictions in place. This restriction includes no watering during the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Weber Basin has hired a group to monitor and enforce this restriction. On the third offense Weber Basin will disconnect the offending customer for the rest of the watering season. Syracuse City owns and operates its secondary water system. This means that for the foreseeable future we will not be imposing this restriction on our customers; however we suggest smart watering practices and a conscious water conservation effort from our residents during this season of drought.
Syracuse City provides an irrigation water service to its residents. All homes in newer subdivisions have access to secondary water, as connection and impact fees have previously been paid on building permits.
A City owned secondary water valve is usually placed in the park-strip in close proximity to the property line. This valve is provided as a point of connection for the customer. However, each resident must provide their own valve to operate their system by. Tampering with any City owned utility is strictly prohibited. Secondary Water is turned on the week of April 15, and turned off the week of October 15.
Blue Stakes
Remember, before you start landscaping, it is a state law to contact Blue Stakes of Utah at least two (2) full business days (48 hours) prior to any digging, to locate and mark utility lines. Requests can be made by dialing 811, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Blue Stakes is a free service provided by local utility companies. Syracuse City is only responsible for marking City owned utility lines (Culinary and Secondary Water Mains, Sewer Mains, Land Drain Mains, Storm Drain Lines, and City owned Street Lighting).
