Museum Happenings
The Syracuse Museum & Cultural Center has many beautiful murals that depict the timeline of Syracuse from 1862 to the early 1940's. Who was Chief Wanship, Jim Bridger, or Captain John Fremont? Does the Farm and Home Museum (located right next door) have a real, two-headed calf? Where does bacon come from? What is inside a peach, a pear, or an apple? Was Syracuse the largest producer of fruit in Davis County in the early 1900's? The Farm & Home Museum is a great place to teach your children about where their food comes from and some other interesting historical facts about our city. If you like fire trucks, come and see the very first one that the city purchased. It's still shiny and red after all these years! Our museum features many collections: thimbles, coins, dolls, cameras, buttons, and many more, available for your enjoyment. We are still accepting artifacts and heirloom donations.
Farmer's Market The Farmer's Market was great this last year! Thanks to all the volunteers for their help and the many vendors who came to sell their produce and other items. This years market will run from July 26 - Sept. 27 2008. You can sign up beginning in May, just call us @ 825-3633. Be sure to tell us what you're selling. Our local fruits and vegetables get priority.

In 1994, the Syracuse City Council endorsed an idea suggested by the Historical Commission (started up by a few long-time residents) that a private organization be formed to raise money to finance construction of a museum and cultural center at the Joseph Holbrook Centennial Park, east of Syracuse City Hall.
