2015 Municipal Election Important Dates


  • Candidate Filing Period: June 1, 2015 thru June 8, 2015.  Declarations must be filed in person in the Office of the City Recorder between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
  • Primary Election: Tuesday, August 11, 2015, 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m at the Syracuse Community Center, 1912 W. 1900 S.
  • General Election: Tuesday, November 3, 2015, 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Syracuse Community Center, 1912 W. 1900 S..  

 
2015 Municipal Election Open Seats

  • At Large Council Seat (four year term)

  • At Large Council Seat (four year term)

  • At Large Council Seat (four year term)

 

Those that declare candidacy  required to meet the following qualifications:

  • Be a United States citizen at time of filing
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be a registered voter of Syracuse City;
  • Be a resident of Syracuse City or resident of a recently annexed area for a period of 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the date of election.


Vote-By-Mail

  • Syracuse City 2015 Municipal Elections will be conducted via mail.  All registered voters will be mailed a ballot 28 days before the Primary and General Election Days.  
  • There are three easy ways to return a ballot: in the mail; in a drop box at City Hall; or at the Syracuse Community Center on Election Day. 
  • Voters also have the opportunity to surrender their ballot at the Syracuse Community Center on Election Day and vote on voting machines.
