2011 SYRACUSE CITY MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS

2011 Municipal Election Dates

  • Primary Election: Tuesday, September 13, 2011, 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m at the Syracuse Community Center, 1912 W. 1900 S.

  • General Election: Tuesday, November 8, 2011, 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m at the Syracuse Community Center, 1912 W. 1900 S.

 

2011 Early Voting Dates
Early voting for the Primary Election begins August 30 and ends September 9.  The complete schedule of dates and times is available below.

Early voting for the General Election begins October 25 and ends November 4.  The complete schedule of dates and times is available below.

2011 Absentee Voting
Absentee ballots for the General Election are now available.  If you are going to be unavailable to vote in the General Election on November 8 or during Early Voting from October 25 to November 4, you are welcome to visit City Hall and vote an in-person Absentee Ballot.  The Absentee Ballot application is available at the bottom of this page.

Those that declared their candidacy were required to meet the following qualifications:
    ·         Be a United States citizen at time of filing;
    ·         Be at least 18 years old;
    ·         Be a registered voter of Syracuse City;
    ·         Be a resident of Syracuse City or resident of a recently annexed area for a period of 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the date of election.

2011 General Election Recount
Candidate Daniel Schuler has requested a recount of the General Election results due to the fact that there was only one vote separating him and Douglas J. Peterson.  The notices for the recount as well as the notice for the Board of Canvass Meeting to be held to certify the results are included below.
