Q.     How do I obtain a copy of a police report?

A.     All individuals needing a copy of a police report must come into the office during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with picture identification.  They will be required to fill out a request for a police report.  All reports must have approval from the Police Chief prior to being released.  There is a $10.00 fee for each police report requested.  Victims will receive the report free of charge.

Q.     How do I obtain fingerprints for a job?

A.     All individuals needing fingerprints done can come into the office during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with picture identification.  There is a $10.00 fee for each fingerprint card requested.  All fingerprint cards must be filled out in black ink.

Q.     Can I park on the street?

A.     It is unlawful for any person or business to park, place, store or otherwise leave standing on any public street, public roadway, public alley or city property any unattached trailer of any type, whether for the occupancy of people, storage of items or for towing purposes; any boat, whether the same is loaded or not on an unattached trailer or otherwise; any camper not mounted on a vehicle; any motor home or mini-home of any length; and any combination of a pulling or towing vehicle with an attached trailer for a period longer than twenty-four (24) hours.  Such vehicles shall be considered in violation of this ordinance if parked in any one location for longer than twenty-four (24) hours or if the vehicle has been parked in one or more locations within Syracuse City for longer than twenty-four (24) hours. Exception: A permit may be obtained from the Police Department for a period not to exceed seven (7) days for out of town visitors.
