The Syracuse City Arts Council is dedicated to making Syracuse an art community. It is the Arts Council's goal to provide learning experiences as well as opportunities to express and display our creative talents by sharing them with each other through not only the fine arts but the performing arts of music and theater as well. 2012 Summer Musical
"Into the Woods"
After considering many issues, including numerous productions of Fiddler on the Roof occuring in our area this summer, the Syracuse City Arts Council decided to change our summer musical for 2012 to the beloved fractured fairytale, Into the Woods! To provide participation opportunities for children and younger people, we are excited to include a children's fairytale production to be presented in conjunction with each performance of Into the Woods.

Syracuse Symphony Orchestra
The Syracuse Symphony Orchestra will be a community-based, all-volunteer group. We are looking for musicians to play in the orchestra. Any player who can demonstrate a proficiency on their instrument is welcome to join. There will be no auditions required, with a few exceptions (read more), so we welcome new members at any time. Keep checking our Facebook page and Blog for further information. We will also be taking letters of interest for the committee leadership positions, including Director, Associate Director, President, Vice Chair, Concertmaster, and Secretary. For more information, visit our Orchestra page.
